Apple Music Will Be On Google Home Devices

Apple Music is heading to Google Home devices. The move continues a trend of making the popular music subscription available on non-Apple devices.

Climbing Outside the Walled Garden

Apple Music is now listed as an option in the Google Home iOS app (via Cult of Mac). At the time of this writing, Apple Music cannot be linked with a with a Google Home device, but it is clearly on its way.

The move is another example of Apple moving outside its walled garden as it looks to expand its services offering. In December 2018, users got the ability to access Apple Music and Beats 1 Radio to their Amazon Echo device via a new skill.

Apple Music has approximately 56 million subscribers. Google Home, meanwhile, has around 30% of the global smart speaker market.
