Apple Releases iOS 11 Developer Beta 5

Apple rolled out iOS 11 developer beta 5 (build 15A5341f) on Monday as we get ever closer to the official release this fall. The update is available for developers with compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models.

It doesn’t look like there are any major changes in this beta release, although Messages in iCloud is temporarily disabled. The feature was announced as part of iOS 11 at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference earlier this year and lets users log into any device and see all of their Messages conversations.

iOS 11 developer betas require an Apple Developer account and an iPhone SE or newer, fourth generation iPad or newer, or a sixth generation iPod touch. The update is available through the iOS Software Update option, or through the Developer website if you haven’t signed up for beta testing yet.

Apple also released watchOS 4 beta 5 (build 15R5345g). watchOS betas are available to developers only, unlike iOS and macOS betas. The corresponding public iOS 11 beta will most likely follow in the next few days.
